Entertainment & Nightlife
Bali offers a wide range of entertainment from traditional Balinese dances, which are staged nightly by many of the larger hotels, to discos and pubs. Kuta has the liveliest nightlife, with watering holes and discos all along Jalan Legian and Jalan Buni Sari, some of which stay open till dawn. The best way to see traditional dances, wayang kulit and gamelan orchestras, is to attend a village temple festival. These are going on somewhere on the island almost daily.

Nightlife
Peanuts 2
One of the most popular venues in the Kuta area, the scene is young and sprinkled with locals, who all take to the huge dance floor in the cave-like air-conditioned interior. Three bars, one outside if the noise is getting to you, and pool tables provide plenty of room and plenty of entertainment. Rock and Roll and Disco music compliment the very reasonably priced drinks.

Hard Rock Café
The drinks are more expensive but regular live bands draw big crowds. The bands are usually good. They start at 11pm and go until 2am.

Bounty
Inside the ship, a very popular bar that plays great music and is very friendly, mainly due to its size!

Tubes
A favorite with surfers and people who like to meet them. One of the best places to watch movies.

Poco Loco
A Mexican restaurant with a large bar that serves great cocktails, try the giant marguerites and daiquiris. Modern jazz on the sound system.

Studebaker's
A first for Indonesia, this new venue offers good food, a great nightclub, and lots of promotional nights. On the Jl. Legian strip, near Hard Rock and Tubes, the open-air venue is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and parties every night. No techno, reasonable prices.

Tours
There is much you can arrange from the Kuta area, such as water sports, rafting, diving, cruises, fishing trips, day trips around the island or to major temples etc, I recommend you book through your hotel tour desk, or from a reputable tour company such as Bali Sightseeing, rather than buy a cheap deal out on the streets. You can surf, swim or sunbake or maybe if you are a "dare-devil" you can bungy or slingshot. If you are travelling with children, then a must is a visit to "Water Bom", at Tuban, with it's crazy slides and pool; there are Timezone video arcades at the two Matrihari shopping centres.

Health Spas
The natural beauty of Bali entwined with local traditions of natural therapy to nuture the body & soul has made Bali an attractive option as a "Spa destination". Traditional beauty salons all over Bali offer treatments such as "mandi lulur" - exfoliation treatment, "cream bath" - hair conditioning treatment which includes head, neck and shoulder massage, manicures, pedicures, body massages and so on.
You can try some of these treatments in the salon or in one of the many world class spas which have mushroomed recently in the five star hotels in Bali.

Temples
Tanah Lot was built on a large rock, cut off from the mainland at high tide, this is on of Bali's most spectacular sunset sights.
