Lombok and Nusa Tenggara

Located just 30 minutes from Lombok by outrigger motorboat, this small undeveloped island provides for a quiet and secluded getaway. Gili Trawangan along with Gili Meno and Gili Air make up the Gili Islands. They have only been recently discovered and are mainly visited by scuba divers looking for perfectly clear water and unchartered finds. Gili Trawangan provides for basic facilities and is ideal for the modern day Robinson Crusoe.

Lombok's chief resort is Senggigi Beach, which offers, besides unspoilt beaches, a complete range of accommodation with some of the best hotels on the island situated here.

Senggigi is a series of sweeping bays, beautiful beaches but take care as they slope very steeply into the water. The snorkelling is good and the sunsets over the Selat Lombok straight are "to die for". This particular area has enjoyed a lot of development over the last few years though has slowed down some in recent months.

Today, Lombok is an harmonious blend of the Balinese and the Sasak peoples. It may no longer have the treasure chambers, but it is equally rich in culture. You will discover many traditional crafts and weavings with a Balinese influence.
