Shopping
Most of the shops are located along Jl. Danau Tamblingan and in the Sanur Art Market (Pasar Seni). The Sanur Beach Market is at the beach-end of Jl. Danau Toba. These shops sell a wide range of Balinese handicrafts, in some, the "souvenir" is actually carved or made on the premises. Between Sanur and Denpasar you can find Sanggraha Kriya Asti, a government-managed handicraft centre; transport is usually free from most hotels.

Dining Out
Choosing the venue for fine dining is becoming more and more difficult in Bali as the number of cafes and restaurants serving world class cuisine just keeps on increasing. Most of the eateries are located on the main road, Jl. Danau Tamblingan, such as the ever popular Cafe Batujimbar with huge salads, sandwiches and a peaceful garden setting or next door, Ryoshi, for Japanese. At the end of the road, the Lotus Pond remains popular.

Nightlife
Janger
Jl. Danau Tamblingan - Macro disco with booming sound systems. Packed at the weekends with locals.

Koki Pub
Bypass Ngurah Rai - Good 'Pub Grub", pool tables, telvised football, plus lots of foreign newspapers.

Kafe Wayang
Bypass Ngurah Rai - Great for after-dinner drinks. Great jam session on Friday nights.

Donald's
This pleasant restaurant is always busy, the food is mainly Indonesian & Asian but very tastey and priced well. There are two sections, one at the front and another at the back of the restaurant.

Tours
There is much you can arrange from the Sanur area, such as water sports, rafting, diving & snorkelling, cruises, fishing trips, day trips around the island or to major temples etc, I recommend you book through your hotel tour desk or a reputable company like BALI SIGHTSEEING, rather than buy a cheap deal out on the streets. You can surf, swim or sunbake or maybe if you are a "dare-devil" you can bungy or slingshot. If you are travelling with children, then a must is a visit to "Water Bom" with is crazy slides and pool; there are Timezone video arcades at the two Matrihari shopping centres.

Diving & Snorkelling
The smaller island of Nusa Lembongan is a popular destination for day trippers and at the northern most point of the island, Mangrove Point, Crystal Bay and Blue Corner Trip, are all good for diving. Some of the areas are for experienced divers only and Manta Point, to the east, is where schools of Mantas come to the cleaning stations and mate.

Cruising
All of the cruise companies have day trips to Nusa Lembongan, Bali Hai Cruises and Wakalouka have overnight accommodation. Bali Hai Beach Club cruise takes you to Lembongan where you can enjoy the Beach Club, which features beautiful landscape gardens and lagoon pool. You can relax or participate in activities such as pool volleyball, banana boat rides, island excursions, diving and snorkelling. BBQ lunch is served by the poolside cabana,
